American Trigger Sports Network (ATSN)
and the network's award-winning series "Stop the Threat"
are proud to be NRA Freedom Friday partners

Houston, Texas --(July 3, 2013) This week embarks the first NRA Freedom Friday (July 5, 2013) featuring a premium lineup of firearm-centric shooting shows promoted by a new long-term partnership entered into between the Pursuit Channel and National Rifle Association. This collaboration aims to promote, strengthen and preserve the outdoor lifestyle, spanning from shooting sports to personal safety.

ATSN, the premiere shooting sports network, has been offering trigger sports and trigger talk programming since it's inception, beginning with "Trigger Sports Radio" hosted by James B. Towle, and then launching into a live online web series "Trigger Sports LIVE!". "ATSN TV" debuted in 2011 on the Pursuit Channel with more trigger sports and training episodes. All programming (including extras) is available online via the ATSN.tv website and YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/atsntv.

ATSN's series "Stop the Threat" blasted onto the scene in 2012, depicting reenactments of real crime scenes from across the country and providing a forum for expert guests (including firearms and weapon specialists, self-defense trainers, law enforcement and other professionals) to offer their expertise and advise on the situations as they occurred in a conversational forum that helps viewers prepare should they be confronted with the unexpected.

The NRA and ATSN have a long-time supportive relationship, having had former NRA Spokesperson Rachel Parsons as a regular on ATSN's "Trigger Sports LIVE!" The NRA's continued support of ATSN TV/Stop the Threat and the Pursuit Channel line-up through NRA Freedom Fridays allows like-minded individuals and entities to come together and stand for the freedoms enjoyed by our nation. The NRA Freedom Friday launch is appropriately planned to follow Independence Day.

NRA Freedom Fridays action-packed prime time line-up will include:

“This alliance is a great chance to celebrate our rich outdoor heritage and lifestyle,” said Wayne LaPierre, CEO and Executive Vice President of the NRA.  “The NRA’s fight for freedom begins and ends with the true-blue beliefs that generations of Americans hold dear.  This partnership with Pursuit Channel gives the NRA another effective vehicle to stay connected to those Americans, while introducing a new audience to the world of sport shooting and hunting.”

About ATSN

NOTE: ATSN was born from the already popular national Radio broadcast, "Trigger Sports Radio", hosted by James B. Towle. Towle wanted to bring the world of Trigger Sports to a whole new level by introducing video clips and LIVE coverage from shooting events, plus NRA updates from Headquarters, Hunting Reports and expert guests on Trigger Sports LIVE! an internet television weekly show. From there, Towle expanded by introducing Trigger Sports TV via DirecTV and Dish Network on the Pursuit Channel. Traveling across the USA, Towle and the ATSN film crew taped competitions and training events in all shooting discipline. Soon after, Towle realized that gun owners needed information on the responsibility of personal self-defense and gun handling beyond the shooting range, and Stop the Threat was born. Each week a panel of law enforcement experts discuss the re-enactment of true crime incidents that have occurred throughout the US and offer the audience sound information to better protect themselves and their loved ones. Towle often asks the viewers to consider "when to shoot or when to retreat". ATSN continues to be the leader in your trigger sports, and personal defense tactics and education.

Mission Statement

"To discuss the safe and responsible ownership of guns as a family sport and an American Tradition".
